Elves are one of the longest living races in Xarion and the closest related to The Exalted Elves. They are the best suited to learn magic because of their long lifespans, but are slow to adapt to change in Xarion and tend to live very traditional lives.
Many are ashamed of their ancestry while others take great pride in it. Elves are not very well liked because of their general stubborness and lack of urgency in the world. Elves age at the same pace as humans when they are young, and then it slows and age rarely starts showing until towards the end of their lives.
Lifespan: 250-300
Humans in Xarion are one of the most diverse and ambitious races. They are the youngest of the tree but still respected in most parts of the world unless you living in Armillii.
Lifespan: 60-80 years
The Garren are the oldest and the most adaptable creatures in Xarion. They have evolved to live in any climate, as well as have the most ‘pure’ primal bloodline by being the gods first children. Garren are the only humanoid creatures that can cross breed with humans, elves and descendants, which creates a hybrid called a troll. More often than not, Garren hybrids are the result of arranged marriages in attempt to strengthen a bloodline of another race and increase survival. They’re like the O blood type of genetics.
Garren are clever, incredibly strong (depending on what subspecies), hard working and quick on their feet, and immune to many illnesses, which make them ideal for physically demanding roles and combat.
Lifespan: 80-120 years
Only known as Descendants. Despite their appearance, they are the elves who got the short end of the stick in life. When The Exalted split into various factions to find ways to escape mortality, some elves chose to bind their bodies to the Unbound to give them another chance at preservation.
Over many generations, the elves began to slowly take on the appearance of the parasitic Unbound and other serious consequences that has effected them as a species. Descendants are seen as exotic, desirable but also dangerous.
Lifespan: 25–35 years
Amphians are cold blooded bipedals that inhabit most of Xarion’s underground or in coastal regions and live very cut throat lives. They are surprisingly organized and opportunists.
Their societies are matriarchal.
Lifespan: 200-300 years, but tend to not live full lives due to inner species violence.
Extinct Races
The Exalted are the first beings created by the brother gods, Arcanis and Diverum. They appeared as tall elves in greyscale in skin and hair, with bird wings of varying shapes. Their eyes are a solid color with very subtle avian like features.
The elves and descendants are the end results when they finally were forced to accept mortality.
The Unbound are parasitic world destroying creatures that are a mix of lovcraftian horror and devils. They take on the form you find most pleasant and have no physical way to enter the material plane, however, they do sometimes find your Beyond (Your afterlife in your dreams) and try to communicate through there to latch onto a living vessel, even if you don’t know you did, they can lie dormant.
Those who have a relationship with them tend to have an unsatiable hunger for life. They only have one thing on their mind. Consume.
